On February 25, 2026, а working meeting was held at the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Information, Security and Law of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine" between representatives of the Institute, the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and representatives of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC Network).
The Global Initiative (Geneva, Switzerland) was represented at the event by Brian Lee, Head of Programme, Observatory of Illicit Economies in Eurasia; Erin McPhee, President of the Corioli Institute; and Fedir Sydoruk, representative of the Global Initiative in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Volodymyr Pylypchuk, Director of the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Information, Security and Law of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine”; Oleksandr Shamara, Advisor; Maria Dubniak, Head of the Scientific Laboratory; Lesia Vaolevska, Head of the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; and Tetiana Druzhchenko, Head of the Scientific Sector.
Liudmyla Buimister, Member of Parliament of Ukraine, took an active part in organizing and conducting the meeting, focusing on issues related to the development of law enforcement and judicial bodies in the context of Ukraine’s European integration.
During the working meeting, the participants discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, in particular the restoration of the military justice system and prospects for further cooperation.
